Sophia Dane’s life is in disarray now. What they find in the chest of the old nursery room isn’t what they expected. But they still need to focus on the case at hand. Michael Stone’s paranoia was justified. During the investigation, they come across a private detective. He becomes their prime suspect when Chester Thatcher picks up on the scent of blood on him. It’s Michael Stone’s blood.

In the middle of all this, Sophia goes through with the marking with Balthazar, Dominic, and Ensoro. And after a meeting with the vampire groups from and surrounding Katelina, Sophia’s new assignment will put her in possible danger. Until that day comes, she will prepare for it with everyone’s aid.

With breakthroughs and twists on the case, Balthazar, Ensoro, and Dominic end up joining Sophia and Chester to solve it. A second body sent to another Nolte family requires them to act faster, despite the imminent danger posed by the underground organization.

STORY EXCERPT

“If you wanted to leave, we might as well,” Chester said. He got into the car, Sophia doing the same. “Just got a text message from Madison. Someone from Michael Stone’s friend circle saw him talking to Samuel Nolte.”

She gaped at him. “Didn’t he tell you he didn’t know the victim?”

“That’s exactly what he said when I showed him a photo of Michael.” Chester started the car and drove away from the sidewalk, up the street.

“Eventually, we’d discover this. Why would he lie?” Sophia looked out the window. “By the way, sorry for leading Alice Stone earlier.”

Chester shrugged. “There’s a lot going on. Don’t worry about it.”

Sophia grumbled, still not liking how she’d made such a mistake. It hadn’t been a defining one, but a mistake nonetheless.

Upon arriving at the Nolte vacation home, Madison, Officer Miller, and Officer Jones were already present. They entered the house.

“My husband and the kids are in the living room. Do you have good news for us?” Christina asked.

“Let’s sit down and talk.” Chester followed Christina into the living room.

Sophia accompanied him, the other three officers behind her. Once she saw Samuel Nolte, she made a mental note that he didn’t look restless. She sat on the couch across from the family of four along with Chester. Christina seemed optimistic with a slight smile. Penelope and Phillip were clearly worried, yet Samuel remained the opposite. The scent of freshly baked cake filled the air.

“Samuel, a friend of yours told us they saw you speaking with Michael Stone recently,” Chester said, looking intently at him.

Now all eyes were on Samuel. Sophia watched as Samuel stared at Chester. Samuel attempted to remain calm, yet he began to sweat. “Do you have something to tell us?” she asked.

Samuel glanced at his wife and children. “I kept quiet because I knew you’d turn me into the prime suspect.”

“Being a suspect doesn’t mean you’re guilty. You’re just a person of interest who we’ll focus on during this investigation,” Chester said. He leaned forward and rested his elbows on his thighs. “Hiding this from us only made things worse for you, Samuel. It’s best if you tell us everything.”

Sophia noticed Samuel stealing a look at Chester’s body. It was clear Chester’s tall and sturdy build intimidated Samuel, and he wouldn’t fathom Chester was a vampire.

Slumping his shoulders, Samuel nodded. “Okay, I knew Michael. We met around five months ago at a bar in North Kerino called Nightfall,” he said, and Sophia and Chester exchanged glances. “He asked if he could talk to me because he needed someone to talk to. It looked like he hadn’t slept well in a while. Seemed tired. Michael told me he overheard his wife on a call, telling someone she wanted him dead. He was a stranger, so I thought it was absurd.”

“But it wasn’t absurd,” Chester said, and Samuel nodded. “This means you stayed in contact with him. He even went to your family’s main house here in North Kerino, and your friend saw you at the door speaking with Michael two weeks ago, May ninth. Michael was murdered on May sixteenth, last week, and found three days after that, this past Friday.”

Samuel sighed. “That’s true. Michael and I met a few times to discuss what we should do.”

Chester raised his hand for Samuel to wait and he regarded Madison. “Have a unit on standby around Alice Stone’s house. Tell her we have a murder suspect and it’s to keep her safe,” he said. With a nod, Madison paced out of the room, Officers Miller and Jones staying behind. “You can continue, Samuel.”

“So, Michael hired a private detective to look into it,” Samuel continued. “According to Michael, Alice set the hit for next Wednesday, but Michael died days ago. I don’t know if she wanted it done sooner, or if she has nothing to do with this and Michael was only paranoid.”

Sophia looked at Samuel. Then Michael’s paranoia had been justified. “What did you do exactly? Doesn’t sound like you did much to help him. You could’ve contacted the authorities immediately, even when you weren’t sure. It would’ve been better to confirm your doubts than to delay this matter.”

Samuel nodded. “I know. I’m perfectly aware of that. But Michael begged me not to tell anyone else. Don’t ask me why, because I don’t know,” he said and took a deep breath. “I’m the one who got the private detective in contact with Michael. His name is Sebastian Temple. Here’s his card.”

“This name sounds familiar,” Chester said and took the business card Michael handed to him. “How far did he get involved in this?”

“As far as I know, he met with Michael once. Michael wouldn’t tell me what they discussed.” Samuel glanced at his family. “I’m sorry I hid this from you. I was as careful as I could, but now the three of you are involved. Someone dropped Michael off in our property somehow.”

Sophia scowled in thought, and her expression caught Samuel’s attention, leaving him taken aback. In this situation, she didn’t care to seem angry. Samuel should’ve called the police. They could’ve protected Michael during the investigation of this possible hit, but now he was dead.

ADULT EXCERPT

Balthazar sighed. “Sophia won’t sleep anytime soon if this keeps going.”

“Just a bit more,” Sophia said quietly in a daze before she kissed Dominic’s soft lips again. Without warning, Balthazar grabbed Sophia wherever he could reach and tossed her onto the bed. She let out a shout of surprise once she landed on the mattress. When she opened her eyes, Balthazar pounced on her and pressed his bulging crotch against her covered pussy.

He put his hands on Sophia’s knees and spread her bent legs to the sides. “You can’t go to sleep like this, then. We’ll give you a hand.”

Already in a daze, Sophia allowed Balthazar to remove her sleepwear clothes.

Ensoro and Dominic got onto the bed from either side and undressed her completely. They always kept at least one piece of their clothes on, yet this time they removed everything.

Sophia gazed at them. Balthazar distracted her by sitting back, on his knees, and he slid his shirt off his alluring torso. His silky long hair fell to one side, and he flung his shirt over his shoulder. She didn’t know what it was, but she desired to touch him, an itch she needed to scratch. Sitting up, Sophia rested her hands on the mounds of Balthazar’s chest.

Balthazar stopped right before reaching for the hem of his pants. He looked down at Sophia’s hands and up at her again. “Are you feeling me up?” he asked with a grin, and she moved her hands away. “I’m teasing you, Sophia. You can do whatever you want.”

Her cheeks grew hot. Before she could touch him again, Dominic held her wrists and put her hands on his own chest instead. Due to his training, he was a tad bulkier than Balthazar, his pecs harder to the touch. “This isn’t a competition,” she said quietly.

“We’re just fans of keeping things even between us,” Ensoro said with a chuckle and tapped Sophia’s shoulder. “Now it’s my turn.”

Sophia took the chance that Balthazar was taking his pants off. She pressed her hands against Ensoro’s well-defined chest. “Are all vampires like this?”

“This hot, you mean? Of course. We’re vampires,” Balthazar said after he dropped his pants and underwear off to the side. “Now, come here. I’m about to burst.”

The way he held her hips and yanked her closer to himself had Sophia shivering and her pussy twitching in anticipation. “I know you want a reaction out of me. You won’t get it,” she mumbled.

Balthazar leaned in and nibbled the side of Sophia’s neck, causing her to flinch. “You shouldn’t lie, Sophia,” he said as he slid his fingers over her wet slit. “If this isn’t a reaction, then I don’t know what is.”

“You know exactly what I’m referring to,” Sophia said, looking up at Balthazar. All he did was roam his fingers over her clit. She desired more. Finally, as if reading her mind, Balthazar thrust a finger into her pussy, all the while pressing kisses against her neck. She tilted her head, and Balthazar took the hint. He grew out his fangs and bit into her neck. Pleasure quickly coursed throughout her body.

While Balthazar thrust two of his fingers into Sophia repeatedly, Dominic held Sophia’s hand. He wrapped it around his hard cock and stroked his shaft. Dominic stiffened for a second when Sophia squeezed his dick a tad and pumped it along with him.

Clearly eager to continue, Balthazar pulled his fingers out. He scooted back on his knees and guided Sophia down toward him, his hand under her jaw. “I haven’t tried this end yet,” he said with a playful grin.

Sophia blushed again. It was hard to hide a reaction from him. She engulfed Balthazar’s hard prick into her mouth and felt someone moving behind her. When she looked to her right, she could no longer see Ensoro, so he was the one adjusting himself. He lifted her hips and sat down. Sophia let out muffled moans when Ensoro pushed his cock into her pussy until she sat flush against him.

Dominic kissed Sophia’s back and pinched one of her nipples, causing her to tense. Then he moved his hand between her thighs and teased her clit with his fingers.

As she sucked Balthazar’s prick, Ensoro held her hips up, his back pressed against the headboard, and he thrust into her at a steady pace. Sophia felt Ensoro’s knees between her legs and put her hands on them for support. His cock rubbed her sensitive walls quicker by the second. Dominic kneading her clit made her jolt with raw lust, adding to the intense pleasure.

“Focus, Sophia,” Balthazar said.

Sophia was taken by surprise when Balthazar thrust his cock into her gaping mouth. His pleasant grunts turned her on. Simultaneously, Ensoro pounded upward into her pussy. Sophia squeezed his knees. He held her hips in place while Balthazar pumped into her mouth.

Ensoro seemed to want to go deeper, but the position didn’t help. Instead, he grabbed Sophia by the back of her thighs and pulled her against him. Her back rested up against his torso, causing her to move away from Balthazar. He pounded harder into Sophia.

Letting out loud moans, Sophia gripped Ensoro’s forearms. He’d spread her bent legs wide open, creating a shyness she hadn’t expected to feel as Balthazar and Dominic watched in delight. Dominic, who barely expressed his emotions, had his eyes closed halfway as he stroked his own prick.

“En…” Sophia uttered, and he gave her a hard thrust of his engorged cock. She cried out in pleasure. It became almost too much. He fucked her deep and with ease while he held her up. She rested the back of her head on his neck and came hard. She jerked several times against her will. Ensoro kept filling her pussy with his prick.

Balthazar dove in and licked at Sophia’s clit. She tried to close her thighs, but Ensoro kept them open.
